The weekend of October 16–18 brought a little of everything to Catalònia HC: demanding matches, encouraging wins and moments that remind us how every team helps the club grow. It was a difficult round for the first teams, but there were reasons to look ahead too.
The Men’s First Team suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 3–1 to Barcelona Hockey Club. Our players took an early lead through Davide Malcotti, before the opposition turned the score around. One setback does not erase the promising start to the season; now it is time to learn from it and keep working.
The Women’s First Team endured a very tough 4–0 defeat away to RC Polo.
Yet a difficult afternoon also brought a particularly welcome moment: the first-team debuts of Rita and Vicky, two promising players from our youth section. Seeing Academy players take that step is a joy for the whole club.
We also send all our support to Rochi, who came through the Catalònia ranks and had to leave the match hurt. We hope to see you back on the pitch very soon, Rochi!

Among the other senior sides, the Women’s Second Team Taronja earned an excellent 5–0 away win at Atlètic Terrassa, while Blau lost 3–1 to Castelldefels Vermell.
In the men’s Segona B competition, Blau edged Club Esportiu Pedralbes 1991 by 3–2, and Taronja narrowly lost 2–1 to Castelldefels.
The Women’s Masters +40 also enjoyed a good round with a 7–2 win over Matadepera 88.
The Mamis 9x9 drew 1–1 with Atlètic Terrassa, while the Mamis 7x7 Blau lost 4–1 away to CD Terrassa.
The Papis finished goalless against Pedralbes Rosso, and Hoquei+ Blau recorded a 5–3 win over Egara 1935 LaFACT.

In the Academy, the Girls’ Youth Team opened the weekend with a 4–0 win over RC Polo B. A fine result to go with the joy of seeing two teammates step up to the first team.
The Boys’ Cadet Team also won, beating RC Polo C 4–1, while the Girls’ Cadet Team secured an 8–1 away victory at Castelldefels B.
The Boys’ Aleví Team won 3–1 against Matadepera 88 Blau, and the mixed Benjamí Team drew 1–1 with Pedralbes HC Azul.
Beyond the scores, the Academy remains a place to learn, share and grow with a hockey stick in hand. Thank you to our coaches, families and all the players who make it possible every week.

There is news approaching off the pitch too. Catalònia OS is in its final stages of preparation, and over the coming days we will be able to share major progress on a project that will mark a big technological step forward for the club. We look forward to telling you more very soon.
Let’s keep growing together, on and off the pitch!
