First hockey weekend of 2026
Recap of the first hockey weekend of 2026 at Catalònia HC: return to competition, important wins, learning moments and renewed motivation.

2026 has already begun, and it has done so with the first hockey weekend of the year. An intense return to competition, with many teams back in action after the Christmas break and the feeling that this is now the moment when the real phase of the season begins.
The first matches of the year brought strong emotions, some positive results and others that were not what we hoped for, but with the certainty that the motivation and desire to keep growing remain fully alive throughout the entire Catalònia family.
Regarding the senior teams, the first teams started the year facing two of the toughest opponents in their respective leagues. Both the Women’s First Team and the Men’s First Team opened 2026 with defeats, in a weekend that left us a little cold, but already looking ahead to the upcoming fixtures.
In Second Men’s Division, the return brought very good news. The Second Orange team achieved a great away victory against one of the most difficult rivals in the category, Pedralbes HC. A goal in the very first minute of 2026 set the tone for the match, in a very complete performance, with excellent sensations and the debut of a new papi in the team’s lines. On the other hand, the Second Blue team was unable to play its match.
The Second Women’s teams have not yet started their sporting year, with their first matches scheduled for next weekend, already keeping an eye on the playoff race.

The Papis started 2026 by returning to winning ways, comfortably beating Sant Andreu at home. A result that strengthens the group’s confidence and desire to keep adding points.
The Mamis 7x7 also began the year in the best possible way, securing a well-earned 3–0 victory against Diagonal, showing solidity, commitment and very good play.
The Women’s Junior team continues in great form and won convincingly in their first indoor hockey match of 2026. Paula Canals delivered a spectacular performance, scoring all five goals of the match and leading another home victory.

At academy level, the first weekend of the year leaves positive feelings. The strong performance of the Girls’ U12 team stands out, winning a very difficult match, along with the rest of the youth teams who played their first matches of 2026, continuing their process of development and growth.
This 2026 has only just begun, with renewed motivation and with the values that have always defined our club and our family. We leave behind the holiday meals and celebrations, and now face the matches that will determine positions and progress for a Catalònia family that continues to grow day by day.
