Gritty opening draws for the first teams, seniors building, academy in motion and Hoquei+ runners-up. Sunday 5/10, SuperSunday at Pau Negre.
Both first teams opened the season with hard-fought draws and useful takeaways. The men’s first team went ahead early, Egara 1935 turned it around, and with a brave finish we rescued a point on a notoriously tricky pitch. The women’s first team also started strongly at Les Pedritxes against AD Rimas (team that has just been relegated from DHB); the hosts flipped the score and, with a penalty corner that already looks like a key weapon this year, our team secured a deserved draw. Good foundations to grow from and to prepare the home opener: we want Pau Negre to be a fortress.
Among our Second senior sides, the starting point was competitive and full of room to grow: quality minutes, roles settling in, and learnings that turn into points later. The Mamis added match fitness in both 7x7 and 9x9 formats, and the Papis began solidly away from home. Early season is about game identity and team cohesion beyond the scoreboard.
Proud of Hoquei+
Hoquei+: runners-up in Spain (Medium group) in Santander. In the final against ATHC we trailed 2–1 with a minute to go and had two late penalties to level it, but both went wide. We’re proud of the journey, the hockey and the attitude; the team comes home with a medal and valuable lessons. Thanks to Gina Contel and Cristina Contel for leading with heart.
In the Academy, the U16 Girls (Cadet Femení) posted a solid win and the U18 Girls (Juvenil Femení) played a high-level game that sets clear work for the week. Next round, U14s, U12s and the rest of the youth sides join in: we want everyone in the stands to lift the first teams and fill Pau Negre from morning to afternoon.
