License to Dream: the Women’s Team Reaches the Final Four!

The Catalònia HC women’s first team qualifies for the Final Four. Full recap of the April 6–7 weekend with all the club’s teams.

The first women’s team secured a very important away win against Vallès Esportiu with a 0-2 victory. Our players scored in the second quarter, and although the match got tense at times, an incredible acrobatic goal from Fátima with just 5 minutes remaining brought peace of mind to the team and the fans. With this result—and the defeat of our closest rival—Catalònia has officially qualified for the Final Four with one game left in the regular season. A giant step forward that keeps the dream alive!

Meanwhile, the men’s first team drew 4-4 against Egara 1935 at Pau Negre. A valuable point, even though the team was coming off an away loss the previous week. With four matches to go (two at home, two away), every game is a final in the race to avoid relegation.

It was also a very intense weekend for the second teams. The Women’s Second Team Blau played two decisive matches: on Friday they drew 3-3, with three goals from Emi, who returned to the pitch after a few weeks out due to surgery. On Sunday, they drew again 1-1 against Barcelona HC. In the shootout, our team showed character and came out on top. They will now play for 5th place against Atlètic.

The Women’s Second Team Taronja won 1-2 in Mataró in the second leg of the semifinals, showing their best form. However, the overall result (4-3) means they won’t be in the final and will now fight for 3rd place against AD Rimas.

The Men’s Second Team, with several key absences, lost 2-0 away to Club Egara. Next weekend they face the second-ranked team at Pau Negre in one of the toughest games of the season finale.

The academy had a fantastic weekend with strong performances. The Boys’ U12 (Aleví Masculí) won 8-0 against Matadepera 88, and the Girls’ U12 (Aleví Femení) earned a 3-4 win in a tight match against Club Egara. The Girls’ U14 (Infantil Femení) beat Barcelona HC 6-0, and the Benjamí team won 2-1 over Castelldefels HC.

The Girls’ U16 (Cadet Femení) drew 2-2 away at CH Sant Andreu, while the Boys’ U16 (Cadet Masculí) suffered a heavy loss against RC Polo B. The Boys’ U14 (Infantil Masculí) couldn’t play their match, and the Girls’ U18 (Juvenil Femení) were defeated by Línia 22 HC.

The Mamis Blau picked up another win, 1-2 against Atlètic, while the Mamis Taronja lost by a narrow margin at Pau Negre to Matadepera 88 HC. A weekend of competition and connection full of energy, as always!

With the good weather arriving, now is the time to show up and support! Catalònia is heading into a very exciting end of the season: the women’s team is already in the semifinals and wants to keep dreaming big; the men’s team is fighting to stay up, with two crucial games coming up at Pau Negre. And none of this would be the same without your energy from the stands.

Come support, enjoy, and help build our club. #ViuElCatalònia
