Catalònia HC experienced an intense weekend, with exciting matches and results that bring us closer to our season goals. Our teams competed with determination, securing key victories across multiple categories.
The first women's team achieved a solid 3-0 victory against HC Sant Cugat. The team had to work hard to break the deadlock, but once they took the lead, they demonstrated their superiority. Rochi Pierini opened the scoring in the third quarter, and just a minute later, her sister, Fran Pierini, extended the lead. Finally, Fatima Abdul Mesih sealed the match with a third goal in the last quarter.
The Pierini family had plenty to celebrate with this brilliant performance!
The second men's team earned its first victory of the year with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Iluro HC. This was a remarkable achievement, as Iluro is one of the strongest teams in the category. Maurits Blankevoort put the team ahead in the first quarter, and Lucas de Gouw scored the second goal from a penalty in the third quarter. With this victory, the team gains confidence under the leadership of their new coach, Joaquin.
The second women's blue team secured a tight 1-0 win against Castelldefels HC, a result that mathematically qualifies them for the playoffs. A great achievement for this group that has worked hard throughout the season.
Meanwhile, the second women's orange team drew 0-0 against AD Rimas, the reigning champion for the past three seasons. This draw virtually guarantees that the team will finish ahead of this rival in the league and secure a more favorable playoff matchup. The match also served as a farewell for Flor, who is returning to Argentina. Over the past two seasons, Flor has been a key part of the team and a fantastic teammate both on and off the field. We wish her the best in this new chapter!

The Mamis and Papis were also in action this weekend. The Mamis secured two major victories: Catalònia Blue won 1-0 against Matadepera 88 Hoquei, while Catalònia Orange achieved an impressive 6-0 triumph over Línia 22 HC.
The Papis, however, faced a tough match against CD Terrassa, who managed to come back in a hard-fought duel at Les Pedritxes.
Catalònia HC’s academy continues to grow, and this weekend, the young teams delivered outstanding performances.
The girls' cadet team earned a well-deserved victory against ATHC C, demonstrating their excellent teamwork. In the youth categories, the girls' U14 team secured a hard-fought draw, while the boys' U14 team showed great determination in a challenging match.
At the lower levels, the Benjamí team won a very close match against Castelldefels HC, while the Pre-Benjamí teams continued their development with well-contested matches.
This weekend, the first men's team did not play, but they are preparing to return to competition with a crucial match next week. The first women's team will also look to maintain their excellent form, while the rest of the teams continue fighting to achieve their season objectives. See you on the field!
