A weekend shaped by the weather and the teams’ character

The weekend of March 14th and 15th felt like two completely different seasons in just 24 hours. Saturday was grey and stormy, with heavy hail and torrential rain affecting several matches, while Sunday brought sunshine and much calmer conditions, more typical of the beautiful city of Barcelona where our club was born.

In these challenging conditions, the Women’s First Team secured a victory worth its weight in gold away at Matadepera 88 Hoquei. The match had to be stopped for almost twenty minutes with the score at 0–0 due to a massive hailstorm. Even so, the team kept its focus and eventually found the winning goal through a decisive individual action. A clear display of character in a very difficult setting.

The Men’s First Team, meanwhile, could not replicate the result on the always difficult pitch of Atlètic 1952 and ended up losing a demanding match. The team will need to regroup, keep working hard and look ahead in this final stretch of the season.

In Second Women’s Division, both club teams were eliminated from the semifinals. CHC Blue fought hard in a match that ended 0–0, but the tie was decided by the single goal conceded the previous weekend. CHC Orange, meanwhile, lost away at AD Rimas, arguably one of the toughest venues in the competition.

In Second Men’s Division, CHC Orange delivered a solid performance against BHC 1977, securing a comfortable mid-table position and confirming the team’s clear improvement compared with last season. CHC Blue also earned a valuable draw away at Castelldefels and continues to show encouraging progress in its first season.

The Women’s Junior Team delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend. Despite a tight start, Willie’s players, coached this weekend by Manu Barranco, eventually took control of the match and secured a 5–1 victory at Pau Negre. Three excellent goals from Paula Canals helped seal the win for the home side.

Despite the challenges, the Girls’ U12 team secured an excellent victory against Junior FC, continuing their impressive run this season. The Boys’ U12 team also earned a hard-fought win against Línia 22.

Meanwhile, the Mamis travelled to Getxo to take part in a tournament that reinforced what defines this club the most: building community and sharing experiences beyond the field.
