A weekend of character with wins for the first teams
Recap of the weekend of January 23rd to 25th, 2026 at Catalònia HC, with wins for the first teams, cold weather conditions and an academy that continues to grow.

The weekend of January 23rd to 25th was one of those weekends that truly put everyone to the test. The weather conditions of recent weeks clearly marked Saturday, with heavy rain, high humidity, intense cold and an overall hostile feeling that even led to the suspension of some matches. On Sunday, however, the sun returned and we were able to enjoy a very different hockey day, with better conditions and positive sensations. We hope everyone has been able to recover and is back at full strength for a new week of competition.
The first teams delivered a strong weekend, both winning by the narrowest of margins against demanding opponents. The Men’s First Team secured a home victory in a very well-controlled match, decided by a great goal from Nico Muro that rewarded the team’s collective effort. The Women’s First Team, meanwhile, earned a hard-fought away win thanks to a goal from Fátima Abdul Mesih after a marathon run starting from her own half. Two wins that confirm the strong level at which our first teams have started this 2026.
At second-team level, however, the weekend did not bring good news. In Second Men’s Division, both the Second Blue and Second Orange teams fell by the smallest margin in two very competitive matches, played simultaneously at Pau Negre. In Second Women’s Division, the Second Orange team could not overcome the always difficult Barcelona Hockey Club, currently second in their group. Even so, both second teams have their playoff qualification practically secured.

The Mamis 9x9 teams continue to be in great form in this 2026 season. After a strong start with good play but without results, they are now also finding victories and the overall feeling is very positive. In 7x7, however, they were unable to overcome the always competitive Mamis from Matadepera.
The Papis lost the derby against Pedralbes Rosso in a match full of tension, as is often the case between teams that know each other very well. This time the coin did not fall our way, but the team remains second in the standings of a very tight league, with up to six teams separated by just five points. Everything will be decided by the smallest details.
The Women’s Junior team competed at a good level despite the defeat in a very demanding match, maintaining their line of growth and learning throughout the season.

At academy level, the weekend once again highlighted the strong work being done from the grassroots. The Girls’ Cadet team delivered a very complete performance with a clear 5–0 win against Castelldefels and, with two wins and one loss, are in contention for everything in this Catalan Championship. The Girls’ Aleví team once again competed at a very high level and secured another victory in a demanding match, while the rest of the youth teams played their fixtures during a weekend heavily affected by the weather conditions.
Despite the cold, rain and difficult circumstances, the attitude shown by all teams was exemplary, demonstrating commitment, determination and adaptability. This 2026 continues to move forward with optimism, with the values that have always defined our club and with a Catalònia family that keeps growing and taking steps forward week after week.
